If you expect to be completely dazzled at a dance concert for little kids – you might find yourself disappointed. When the dancers are really young, it’s more about how adorable they are on stage and less about amazing moves.
Seriously, have you ever watched a toddler dance in a tutu and not had your heart melted into a giant puddle?
Another enjoyable thing about attending a kid’s dance recital is you’ll likely witness a few funny moments too. I mean, a group of toddlers trying to follow a routine? It’s of course going to lead to some chuckles!
Even if you haven’t been to one of these concerts yourself, the internet is full of laughable moments captured on film. A lot of times, it involves a single kid hilariously stealing the spotlight – just like in the following clip.
The video is called “Funny 2 year old tap dance recital” and it does not disappoint!
So, which peanut is the one to watch out for? They’re all cute as buttons, but it’s the girl on the left that manages to run away with the show. According to the YouTube description, it was the two-year-old’s first dance concert.
All the tappers are a bit in their own worlds.
Dancing in a classroom is one thing, but doing it under bright lights in front of a crowd is another. Plus, they’re toddlers! Naturally, all the excitement is going to be distracting.
In the video, the group of dancers try and shuffle their feet to the song “Princess Things.” As for the girl on the left? Well, she just stands there.
But then she sees familiar faces in the crowd.
The girl lights up like a Christmas tree at the sight of her loved ones – almost as if she’s saying, “Hey, I know you…” She ditches her fellow dancers and heads over to say hello.
Before she can make it, she’s caught by a person behind the curtain.
With a huge grin on her face, the girl dances near the side of the stage. At this point, the crowd is laughing and clapping over her cute antics.
Apparently, that was all she needed to really let loose.
The kid goes to town dancing like she’s the star of the show. I don’t know if she’s actually following the routine – but she’s at least marching to the beat of her own drum!

Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise for kids, but it has other benefits as well. According to Everyday Health, it teaches them coordination, grace, self-confidence, rhythm, and inspires creativity too. It’s no wonder why so many children fall in love with the activity!

Although a spin was part of the tap routine, the girl does so many it looks like she’s trying to make herself dizzy.
