America’s Got Talent is always over cluttered with singers and dancers every season. That means, when someone picks a talent outside of that, they instantly stand out.
Brian King Joseph didn’t need anything but his God-given talent and hard work to make him stand out, however.
The violinist just made a huge impression during his audition on America’s Got Talent.
When asked by the judges what brought him, there, Brian said:
“I’ve dreamed of being on this stage ever since I was a kid. And more recently, ever since I might not have had a chance to be on it.”
Heidi Klum asked him to elaborate a bit more on what he meant by saying he might not have been able to come on the show.
It turns out, Brian was diagnosed with a very serious condition, one that will impact his musical career vastly. Yet, he hasn’t let it stop him from creating incredible music.
Brian said:
“I’ve been playing the violin since I was four. But three years ago, I was diagnosed with a serious nerve disease that takes away the feeling from my hands and feet. And eventually, it will spread throughout my body.”
For his audition, Brian played the electric violin and he chose a very interesting song. He played a tune most people would hear if they went to a dance club!
Brian’s rendition of “Lean On” by Major Lazer and Dr. Snake doesn’t sound anything like the original, but that is exactly why Brian made it work so well for him.
What makes Brian’s audition even more remarkable is the fact that he cannot feel anything in his hands and feet.
So, while he is playing the violin, he doesn’t actually feel it, yet he gets every note perfect. He cannot feel anything in his feet, but he doesn’t miss a single step the entire time.
When he finished performing, Heidi leaped out of her seat and ran on stage, just so she could hug Brian. Understandably so, Brian was in tears because of it.
After, all four judges got a chance to tell Brian what they thought of his audition. Mel B thought that he was “amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing.” While Simon Cowell called Brian’s audition the best one he’d seen all day.
It should come as no surprise after all of that, Brian got a yes from each judge and was sent to Hollywood so he could compete on this season!
America’s Got Talent’s Facebook account shared Brian’s audition and in under an hour, it got over 3,000 shares and hundreds of comments.
One Facebook user wrote:
He deserved the golden buzzer! Absolutely amazing! My mother lived with neuropathy for several years. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain this young man feels on a daily basis. Amazing! You are a star Brian! Best of luck
While another also asked where Brian’s Golden Buzzer was:

What did you think of Brian’s performance? I’ve never seen a violin performance anything like this.
