Talent shows pretty much guarantee the audience’s amusement.
The name “talent show” is a bit off, really, considering you don’t actually have to have that much talent to capture the attention of your crowd.
You just have to be up for making a fool of yourself on stage – all in the name of humor, of course.
And if you can rope a few friends into it, even better! You’ll have the crowd chuckling appreciatively in no time.
As long as you’re brave enough to step onto the stage and give it your all, you’re a worthy talent show contestant.
In one talent show in Silverdale, Washington, seven young women had thought up the best talent show idea ever.
They didn’t have any obvious shared talents, so when they took the stage at the Silverdale First Ward LDS Talent Show, they decided to do something a little different.
All seven of them were wearing unique black and white outfits. Before the audience could possibly guess what was happening, the music started, and they started up with a series of synchronized movements that had everyone laughing.
You’d be surprised at just what an optical illusion their vertically striped black-and-white costumes are!
It’s nearly impossible to tell where one girl’s body ends and another one begins and whose legs belong to whom, even when looking at still images of the performance.
There are multiple songs included in the performance, including MC Hammer’s classic, “Can’t Touch This”, and Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger”.
Mind boggled? Let’s look into the simple trick behind this illusion.
It’s all down to the costumes, which alternate in black and white, with each girl getting one black, one white – and having some parts connected.
Once you understand what’s behind “secret,” it becomes easier to see how they pulled it off. It’s not that difficult after all!
Still, though, this is an entertaining watch that gets funnier every time you see it – the perfect choice for a talent show performance!
While there were seven girls on stage, it looked more like there were only three-and-a-half bodies in motion.
They switched things up with every new song, pulling off all the tricks in the book, getting the audience laughing every time.
Throughout their performance, the girls worked in synchronization, moving their legs in time to the music.
Their hilarious outfits coupled with the fact that their heads didn’t seem to match the bodies make this equally creative, humorous, and even kind of magical.
It certainly messed with people’s perception!
The highlight of the performance was when “Chariots of Fire” began to play. Using just the legs in white, the girls made out that they were all running in slow motion.
We’re not sure it can be called talent, but it was definitely something!
There’s no doubt that no matter who won this night, it was the seven girls in this performance who left the audience with the biggest smiles on their faces.
