When we think a little about what we did when we were six, slaying on the drums probably doesn’t come to mind.
But this little boy has a childhood full of music and spends his time playing the drums.
His name is Avery Molek, though he’s better known as Avery Drummer—and this video shows how he got that nickname. In this clip, young Avery sits to play a drum cover of “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns n’ Roses.
Avery plays in a real studio and with a drum that’s just as professional as his attitude.
This video begins with the little boy sitting in a studio with a quality drum set and huge speakers in the background. Little Avery is very focused, very serious and completely adorable. The way he dives into music could teach us all a little lesson about motivation and how to be persistent about things you love!
He keeps his straight face the entire time and the music radiates through him. The fact that a little boy can produce such incredible music is impressive—and it’s clear he listens very carefully. Needless to say, this must have taken a ton of practice!
His parents said they started filming him so that he could concentrate and finish the song.
Avery’s official website is full of interesting information about this talented little boy. There it says that he started playing at the age of two and hasn’t separated from his drums ever since!
His parents began taping him because they thought it would make him become more focused on his playing. Since then, his popularity has exploded online! His parents are true role models for investing time and energy in their child. Even though they don’t have any significant musical background, they have supported their son—and he is on his way to becoming a star!
Avery is from Pennsylvania and has already had the opportunity to perform live several times. In particular, he once did a live performance with Brad Paisley in 2013! He’s already living the life of a rock star. In addition to drums, Avery also plays piano, guitar and bass.
His smile in the middle of the video is absolutely adorable!
Though he’s very professional the whole video, one part of the song obviously touches him a lot and he smiles. His smile shows pure joy and excitement! Because he plays so well, it’s easy to forget that he is only a child—and when he shows his true emotions that innocence shines through. This talented boy has conquered many popular songs and makes them all seem so easy!
Since it was posted in 2012, this video has earned nearly nine million views on YouTube!
Avery’s YouTube account is full of different videos that in his own words “show him growing in drumming, not height.” Though Avery is older now, he still plays regularly, tours a little bit and lives an exciting life.
His parents do their best to make sure he goes to school, plays sports and does everything that any other kid would do. While he has accomplished a lot at his young age, we’re sure there’s still even better things yet to come!
