We’ve all seen videos of children singing. Some of them are okay while others are spectacular. But finding videos of six-year-olds belting out classics is an entirely different story. Take the song, Fly Me to the Moon” as a prime example. For this iconic song, it takes someone with serious vocal skills to sing it.
Originally, this song was called “In Other Words.” Although Kaye Ballard first recorded the song in 1954, the same year Bart Howard wrote it, it wasn’t until 10 years later that it became popular. With Frank Sinatra’s rendition, it flew off the charts.
One little girl is taking social media by storm
Her name is Miumiu and at only six years old, she’s already made quite the name for herself. Not only does she have a sweet singing voice but she also plays the guitar. But what makes this young artist so interesting is that she often tackles songs you’d only expect to hear from trained professionals with years of experience.
She’s talented and humble
Miumiu, who hails from Asia, takes her music seriously. Along with all the videos she posts of her singing and playing the guitar, she provides viewers with a heartfelt message. “Thank you for your encouragement. I will continue to study hard. To fulfil my dream to be an excellent guitarist. Please forgive me for my poor English. This is not my native language.”
This girl has the world by the tail
Most girls her age spend their time playing with dolls and friends. But not this one. She dedicates her time to learning the guitar and improving on her vocals. And whoever is training her is doing an outstanding job. She uses a lot of highly intricate techniques to create a beautiful sound.
People everywhere have fallen in love with her
She’s so precious, it’s no wonder that people from all over the world now follow her on YouTube. One individual posted this comment, “I’m pretty sure I was still eating dirt at 6 yrs old.” Another said, “I thought she was just playing the guitar. As soon as she starts singing, a big smile on my face.”
Her version of Fly Me to the Moon was a big hit
Since first posting this video, it’s been viewed more than 679,000 times. One commenter put the experience of watching her perform this way, “As a musician of over 30 years…shoot me now.” While no one knows where Miumiu will end up, if becoming a professional musician is her goal, there’s no doubt she’ll achieve it.
Having the opportunity to see such young talent is rare. She’s got heart and soul that shows with every word she sings and every chord on the guitar she strikes. Remember, she performs many other songs. But without question, you don’t want to miss the one where she performs Fly Me to the Moon. It’s perhaps one of her best pieces.
