When these five ladies lace up their boots, they aren’t about to waste the day
What do you think five fun ladies do when they put on their cowboy hats and thick boots?
Well these ladies get out and dance! This video celebrates the spirit of music with this incredible music video set to Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee”.
But what is the song about?
The original song is really about the Chattahoochee river that forms part of the border between Alabama and Georgia. As the story goes, Jim McBride and Lana Jackson, the composers who co-wrote the song, knew about the river since Alan Jackson was raised in Alabama.
So when Jim read a piece called “Song of the Chattahoochee”, he hummed what became the melody and came up with the first two lines of the famous song. He worked with Alan Jackson to write the lyrics, which spoke to Alan’s experiences growing up by the river as a youngster.
“Yeah way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livin’ and a little ’bout love”
The lyrics became popular line dancing fodder, making it perfect for these young women
During the video, the women get into lines and dance synchronized steps to the lively tune. The best part of the song is that it’s great for singles and groups and is remarkably easy for new dancers to learn.
It’s this spirit of lively, fun, and laid-back fun that marks these women as they dance. With same colored hats and color themed tops, it’s a visual line dancing lesson all on its own. But even with their impressive skills, you can’t beat the big smiles on their pretty faces as they slide, spin, and tap.
Anyone who’s a fan of lively music and dance will have reason to cheer on these performers.
You’ll want to get up and dance when these ladies shimmy and shake
As the camera sweeps across these performers, pay attention to how they dance with their full bodies. Their hips are always in motion. Their arms are always up. It’s like these women refuse to fall behind one another.
The lively tune certainly helps as their feet stomp, step, and kick to this music. While the original song might be about growing up along the river, this version is a celebration of living life to the fullest by the same natural wonder.
But don’t worry if you can’t follow along
The video also takes time to showcase what makes each of these women special.
There’s a segment where the women take turns moving to the foreground to dance solo while the rest sit back, watch, chat, and enjoy the incredible looking day. One look at the lush backdrop and who can blame them?
After all, wasn’t the song about enjoying a day in one of the loveliest spots in the country? That’s the true Cowgirl spirit if we ever heard it.
