If you’ve been watching musical competition shows for a while, you’ve probably noticed that some groups have gotten their break from them!
Perhaps the most famous example of this happening is with the now world-famous One Direction! Although they have name recognition now, they all auditioned on the show individually over the years before being put together as a group.
In other cases, sometimes an entire musical group comes on one of these shows from somewhere internationally to perform as once act.
That was the case for one group on The X Factor UK.
The performance took place on the show’s 2015 season.
In this audition, the performers in question were a girl group from the Philippines called 4th Power. As they walk out onstage, they’re already bubbling over with excitement to be there.
Before anything else, all four of the girls wave hello to judge Rita Ora who they’re so excited to see! After that, the group introduces themselves and explains that they’re all sisters. They traveled a long way to make it to the United Kingdom to perform.
From the very beginning, it’s clear they have a ton of enthusiasm.
Before long, the judges clear the way for them to perform.
With that, they take their positions onstage with their backs turned to the audience. A moment later, the backing music starts playing and everyone recognizes it as “Bang Bang” by Jessie J.
As soon as the beat of the song drops, the girls start spinning around and singing with so much ferocity that the whole crowd is taken aback. Before long, all of the sisters are singing and dancing their hearts out.
Still, things only get more and more intense from there!
Although many of the people who come on shows like The X Factor are looking for a break, it’s clear these girls are professionals.
Even though the song is a pretty tough one to sing, all four of them sing and dance like pop stars in their own right. The performance only gets better when all four of them harmonize together.
Before long, they’re even rapping the middle verse as well. When it comes to the highest notes in the song, they nail it!
When it’s finally over, the audience gives them a huge round of applause.
After it’s all over, it’s time for the judges to give them some feedback.
Right off the bat, the judges explain that their enthusiasm and energy blew the crowd away. Part of what made the audition so successful is that their outward appearance was so mild and small, but their performing personas were so big!
Even judge Simon Cowell says their audition was one of the best he’s ever seen!
When it’s all over, all four judges give them a big yes to continue!
Needless to say, their performance showed that you should never judge a book by its cover.
Even though the four sisters seemed like they were quiet and shy, their performance lit up the entire arena! Though they weren’t from the United Kingdom, they did everything they could to travel there to audition on the biggest stage imaginable… and it was definitely worth it.
