When most people are 3-years-old, they spend their days napping and playing with toys. Some 3-year-olds aren’t even potty trained.
And, of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s likely that there are few 3-years-old that can wail on the drums like a grown adult.
But this one can. Lyonya Shilovsky could play the drums like a pro when he was just 3. According to Daily Mail, Lyonya is from Novosibirsk, Russia.
He was first thrust into the spotlight when he performed on the Russian talent show Minute of Fame. He later went viral during a performance at the New State Concert hall of Arnold Katz in Novosibirsk in February 2014.
The video below of his performance has 40.1 million views. Millions of people have been completely blown away by the then 3-year-old’s performance.
Classic FM reports that the boy played with an orchestra who performed Offenbach’s Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld. Lyonya steps out on stage to huge applause.
His dad is with him leading him the whole way. The orchestra, dressed in tuxedos, watch with smiles as the little boy steps behind his drum set.
But he can no longer be seen once he sits down in the tiny chair placed behind it. It’s because he’s so short! And his little chair is just too cute. As is the fact that his dad is sitting behind him the entire time!
And this kid is cool as a cucumber. Like it ain’t no big thing. He’s just about to play some drums. He’s not focused on the audience or the orchestra. Just on the fact that he is getting ready to play the drums.
His drum sticks so larger in his hands and it’s absolutely adorable. And so is his spikey haircut. When the orchestra starts to play, little Lyonya gets going and it’s amazing.
You can tell he just loves playing so much. He’s super into it. And dad is clapping the whole time. At one point he gets a little distracted and starts looking at the orchestra. He ends up dropping one of his stick.
But no big deal. Lyonya is a professional! He just casually goes to grab it and dad gives him a hand. Then he’s off to playing again like nothing ever happened.
Soon it’s time for his big solo. At this point, he’s wailing on those drums. This kid is rocking out. But then there’s a distraction.
He sees mommy (or a woman he knows) and stops to talk to her. But this kid picks right back up and goes right back at it. It’s pretty incredible.
Especially when you consider what you were doing when you were 3. The crowd is absolutely loving Lyonya. He then gets ready to perform his big finish and really impresses.
His mom hands him some flowers and he and dad walk off stage with them. But the conductor goes to find him and brings Lyonya to take a bow before he exits the stage again. Check out his awesome performance below.
