How can you call on an artist to come to your country?

In this age of social media, people can do massive online petitions.

Back in the old days, it was writing to production companies.

But these Belgians got creative.

In Belgium, they had a different idea. In the middle of a field, Belgians called on the musician to come to their country by playing him a tribute song.

Over 200 Belgian musicians congregated in a luscious green field.

They’re “Waitin’ On A Sunny Day”.

The video, posted by Waiting for Sunny Days, a reference to Bruce Springsteen’s song, opens with a kid walking through the field.

With a guitar in his hand and a heart full of music, he leads the camera to a line of musicians just like himself.

Then, as the camera pans, it reveals ranks and ranks of people distributed according to their talent.

Then, the intro plays.

The project is a collaboration between three Belgian music schools – the 1234absl, Music Factory, and the Rock’s Cool.

Each school sent representatives for guitarists, singers, bassists, violinists, and drummers.

They played with a goal in mind.

They said in the video’s caption that they made this project to convince Springsteen to have a concert in their country.

“Beyond this gathering and this unforgettable memory, we hope that Mr. Springsteen will appreciate the result and will come to do us the honor of a concert in the Belgian fields,” the caption said, both in English and French, “Because we want to prove that it does not have to be a big music business company to reach the greatest artists in the world.”

From performance to festival.

Much more than a performance, it’s a gathering of like-minded and equally talented people.

And it’s heartwarming to see that they get to connect with other artists like themselves, especially the extremely talented kids who obviously made friends.

In the “after movie”, they show how the undertaking was organized like a get-together event.

They had drinks like beer and they even have a small coffee shop latched onto a truck.

They’re celebrating their love of music.

This gathering is just a testament to how music can bring together great minds, from musicians to videographers, to producers, to even baristas.

People all over praised the musicians.

“Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE needs to see a live concert of Bruce. He brings the energy, compassion, power, and love to all who attend.” Said one comment. “I sincerely hope he pays you a visit, you deserve it! Great job on your video.”

“This is exactly what our world needs now. God bless Bruce and these 200 Belgian musicians.” Said another.

Springsteen will be touring next year.

A source from Belgium said that the singer will be visiting the country once more around June 2023, although details for this leg have yet to be announced.

Springsteen’s last concert in Belgium was back in 2016.

According to his website, their concert at Werchter was attended by a crowd of 60,000.
