Maybe some musical icons never really leave us.

When 12-year-old Taj Farrant shows off his guitar skills and soulful voice you may be doing a double-take thinking you just heard the ‘Godfather of Soul’ himself.

Taj is one talented musician. After he shared a video of himself playing guitar and singing James Brown’s ‘It’s a Man’s World,’ it quickly became viral and got over 1.3 million views.

He’s got soul for days.

Taj shocks the internet with the depth of his skill and talent. His dad films him as he talks about the fact that they are still in lockdown.

It’s a good thing Taj can keep himself busy by sharing his talent with the world.

This guitar prodigy would make the ‘Godfather of Soul’ proud.

As they prepare for his guitar solo, Taj looks into the camera as his dad says,

“It’s been a while since he’s done it lets see what he can do…a year later!”

Taj smiles and tells his audience he will be singing “It’s a Man’s World” by James Brown.

Taj knew right away that he wanted to play guitar.

“Average 12 year old: “Hey Mom. Can I go out and play in the backyard?” Taj: “Hey mom, can I be possessed by the spirit of a legendary singer this afternoon?”
